Because We Care: Supporting Others When It’s Not “Your” Responsibility

hank you everyone for tuning into my live video with Julia Yarbough and Kirsten Mau!

The discussion was rich as we covered where the delineation is between responsibilities we have as caregivers towards our aging parents, while respecting their autonomy and allowing them to ‘make their own bad decisions’.

Whether it has been interactions with siblings facing a terminal diagnosis in the family, repeatedly seeing a fall risk with a trash can, or the memory of a heart situation that could have ended badly - the three of us have been facing challenges around how and where to lean in, and when to let go and accept whatever fate may have in store. We hope you enjoy the discussion and welcome any comments or thoughts around other topics you’d like us to cover!

Caregiving is hard. Talking about it shouldn't be.
